Qualifications: B.Proc, University of Free State

Christo Marais started his career studying towards a B.Proc degree at the University of the Free State. Christo was admitted as an attorney in 1986, specialising in Property, Insolvency and Contract Law. He practiced law as an Attorney and Partner at Schur Marais & Doman Attorneys in Worcester for 17 years. In 2007 he established his own firm, JC Marais Incorporated t/a Christo Marais Attorneys & Conveyancers and developed a national reputation for providing superior, comprehensive and effective legal assistance.

Christo stays in the heart of Stellenbosch with his wife. He enjoys working with people and offering friendly and efficient service to clients.

Qualifications: BComm LLB, University of Stellenbosch 

Jonell Delport graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a
B. Comm (Law) degree in 2013 and a postgraduate LLB degree in 2015. Jonell completed her articles of clerkship at Miller Bosman Le Roux Incorporated where she was involved in civil litigation and commercial law. She was admitted as an Attorney and Notary Public in 2018 and as a Conveyancer in 2019. Jonell specialises in conveyancing, sectional title law, notarial services and all legal aspects relating to immovable property.

Jonell enjoys all types of outdoor activities, specifically game watching and fishing. She also loves spending time with family and friends. Her personal interests include animals and exploring different places.

Cherise Redelinghuys obtained a BComm Law degree at Stellenbosch University in 2019, whereafter she completed a postgraduate LLB degree in 2021. Cherise completed her practical vocational training at Christo Marais Attorneys whereafter she was admitted as an Attorney and Notary in 2024. Cherise is a dedicated member of the team and heads the litigation and estates departments at the firm.

A cyclist by heart, she pedals through the colourful roads of Stellenbosch with the same determination that propels her through legal battles. An art enthusiast, she finds inspiration in the strokes of a brush, reminding herself that even in the rigidity of law, there lies beauty waiting to be discovered.

Sonet Crous, earned a Bcomm Law degree from Stellenbosch University in 2022 and a postgraduate LLB degree in 2024. She is now starting her next legal venture as a candidate attorney at Christo Marais Attorneys in 2025.

Originally from Namibia, Sonet cherishes the simple joys of her homeland, where rain is a celebration. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys horse riding and hockey. Grounded in family and friendship, Sonet aims to bring warmth and determination to her legal career.
